Challenge to idea that tobacco came to Turkey from the Western Hemisphere
[edit]The root article on tobacco under Etymology indicates that there may well have been a plant (or varieties thereof) that not only had the name but also had the characteristics of the plant introduced in bulk from America after 1492, already living and cultivated in the Muslim world and possibly most of Asia. What does biological science say about this? Baldjim1 14:07, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
If you ask the average Turk, everything originated in Turkey, from baseball to Chinese food. They were first on the moon too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.250.21.229 (talk) 23:15, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Turkish tobacco. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20060907010804/http://www.american.edu/ted/turkish-tobacco.htm to http://www.american.edu/ted/turkish-tobacco.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
